Hockey Alberta Member Grant 2022/23 Season
Hockey Alberta, along with the Edmonton Oilers Community Foundation, and the Hockey Alberta Foundation, awarded the Sturgeon Minor Hockey Association with the 2022 Hockey Alberta Member Grant in the amount of $7500.00! The awarded application was submitted by Sturgeon Fillies U15 Head Coach, Jennifer Lockridge. This team, SU650, is in it's inaugural year, playing in the EFHL Female division.
Female hockey is on the rise and Sturgeon Hockey Club wants to do everything possible to help it grow and keep girls on the ice in the Sturgeon community. Next year, the goal is to have teams in U11, U13, U15 & U18!
The 2022/23 Hockey Alberta Member Grant will cover:
- additional development sessions for SHC female players this season
- hosted ID skates in Spring to prepare for the upcoming year
